Recipe: Steak Stir Fry⁣

Steak Stir Fry⁣

INGREDIENTS ⁣

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin, skirt, or flank), thinly sliced into 1/4" strips against the grain⁣

  • 2 tbsp avocado oil, divided⁣

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced⁣

  • 2 - 3 carrots, peeled and thinly sliced⁣

  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets ⁣

  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into thin strips⁣

  • 2 cups snap peas⁣

  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds⁣

  • 1 tsp sea or kosher salt⁣

  • 1 tsp ⁣

Stir Fry Sauce⁣

  • 1/4 cup low sodium tamari or soy sauce⁣

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar⁣

  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice (1 orange, juiced)⁣

  • 2 tbsp honey⁣

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch⁣

  • 2 tsp sesame oil⁣

  • 2 tsp sriracha sauce (optional)⁣

INSTRUCTIONS ⁣

  1. Thinly slice the steak against the grain, 1/8" - 1/4" thick And set aside.⁣

  2. Combine all stir fry sauce ingredients in a bowl. Use a whisk to combine and set aside. ⁣

  3. Heat a non stick skillet over medium heat. Add half the oil and add the steak to the pan, and stir fry until medium rare, about 3 minutes. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside. ⁣

  4. Add the remaining oil to the pan add the garlic, mushrooms and sauté 1 minute. Add the carrots, broccoli and sauté 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the bell pepper and snap peas, to the pan and stir fry all vegetables an additional 3 minutes stirring frequently.⁣

  5. Add the steak back to the pan with the vegetables and pour over the stir fry sauce. Stir frequently, until the sauce thickens and the vegetables are fork tender, 3 minutes. ⁣

  6. Remove from heat, stir in the sesame seeds, top with some cashews and serve.⁣
