Homemade Chai Latte

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ½ cups milk of your choice

CHAI CONCENTRATE

  • 2 ½ cups filtered water

  • 2 tbsp black tea

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 star anise (optional)

  • ¼ tsp black peppercorns

  • 1 tsp ground cardamom

  • 1 tsp ground cloves

  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg

  • ¼ tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract


INSTRUCTIONS

MAKE CHAI CONCENTRATE

  1. In a saucepan, add all ingredients for chai concentrate except for the vanilla extract.

  2. Simmer on low for 10 minutes.Stir occasionally.

  3. Place a small sieve over a measuring cup and pour the liquid overtop. Discard tea leaves, cinnamon stick, spices and add vanilla extract.

  4. Heat your milk in a milk frother or stovetop and pour warm milk into a mug. Add a 1/4 of the chai concentrate to the warm milk, stir and enjoy.
